Daily Diary (Teaching Practice) Phase 2

  Week 2 Analyzing the school's achievements, history, library on this week and also continued my portions accordingly.On this week, I had given notes to 8th and 9th standards and made them do activities also.... The ICT classes made my teaching more easy. And, on this week, I had prepared several variety of teaching aids and provide activities to students.Unit tests were conducted on these days. Students scored good marks on my subject and it made me felt happy.  Important days on this week include: International day of women diplomacy International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking  Helen Keller Day  Statistics day The Mid day meal programme and radio program went on as same as the previous week.  I am happy that I completed the poem Nothing twice and also took some grammar portions in both classes.All went as per my lesson plans.

Week 1 As part of our B.Ed curriculum, the 30 days teaching practice starts here.Today is my first day to the school Govt Model Bhss, Thycaud and I was really excited as a Trainee.When we entered the principal's room, they had allotted three classes for me to deal with, 9Dand 8B.As per the timetable I have entered to the classes. On the first day I just interacted with the students informally. Had a different experience.......  As per my plans, I had continued my lessons accordingly.Also, met with different programs that had been conducted in our school.like Rabis Awareness Program, yoga day enrichment,Radio program, Midday meal program. Conducted poster making and reading programs on the reading day.  Important days on this week : Austic pride day   World sickle cell day  World Refugee Day International yoga day  World rainforest day I am glad that I completed the chapters the Mysterious picture and Debts of Gratitude as per my lesson plan.

Workshop : Creative Classroom The Department of English at PTM College of Education, Trivandrum, along with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), hosted a workshop titled "Creative Classroom: English Teaching Aids" on May 24, 2024 held at CP Sreekantan Nair Memorial Hall, P.T.M.C.E, the hybrid workshop began at 10 AM. Mr. Abhilash R., an experienced Higher Secondary School Teacher of English from Govt. VHSS Aryanad, Thiruvananthapuram, served as the resource person, sharing practical insights into the use of teaching aids in English classrooms. The workshop was coordinated by Mrs. Bindya R. S., Assistant Professor in English Education, Dr. Renjini U., Assistant Professor in General Education and IQAC Coordinator, and Dr. Anu Krishnan R., Principal of PTMCE. Cognitive Map

Cognitive Map Cognitive maps are used to help student-teachers organize educational content in a coherent manner. For example, while learning about educational psychology, a cognitive map can illustrate how different theories of learning (like behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism) are related to classroom practices. When planning lessons, B.Ed students can use cognitive maps to outline the flow of a lesson or unit. This can include mapping out the key concepts, the sequence in which they will be taught, and how they connect to prior knowledge and future topics. Cognitive maps help in making abstract or complex concepts more concrete by providing a visual representation. For instance, when teaching about the structure of the education system, a cognitive map can show the hierarchy and relationships between various institutions, levels of education, and educational policies.
